Fridge Issues

The vents in my freezer are clogging with ice, therefore restricting the airflow to the fridge and not cooling the food the way it should.
I can unplug and defrost, but what kind of issues are we talking about here? I'd rather fix the problem on a permanent basis than have to do this time after time.
Suggestions?

what type of fridge do you have? i was having similar problems with a whirlpool side by side. ice ended up blocking everything, so when defrost would run, the water would leak out the front of the freezer. was a really simple fix.

Had the same problem. The freezer is supposed to periodically defrost itself, I think. If it doesn't, that's what happens.

Had a repairman come out and replace some electronic part.

It is an Admiral. Top and bottom type fridge.
I don't think it is defrosting, that is the issue.
