I thought the final Hail Mary pass transitioning to a pass at next year's practice was genius. For a moment, I thought they might pull a Sopranos and not say what happened, until they showed evryone wearing rings. I alos thought the montage over the last few minutes showing how things had worked out for everyone was great.
My final thought : F@*% NBC for screwing the pooch on the the marketing, promotion and support for this show.
5 years can be a good run for a drama, but the really good ones (like this) seem to be able to sustain for at least 7 or so before they turn. I don't mind so much the 5 years as I do that three were really half seasons. I would have like to have seen the story lines that were included in the last three seasons played out over 3 full seasons.
That was possibly the best series ending ever. I too loved the way it didn't show the catch but let you know it was caught. Perfect. I will miss the show and the characters, especially Kyle Chandler, who I have been in love with since he was on Home Front years ago.
Finally caught last episode on Hulu. Sad to see it end but they did a great job of doing it. I was surprised they got a 5th season but glad they did. Another show I'll miss.
