due to the chances of rain after 6pm falling, and the drainage on this new field is awesome, and I think they already would have postponed it if they were................ I think they will play. -- without my warm loving *** being there. If you don't mind baseball in 40 degree weather, start your engines.
P/C, curious why you keep referencing only needing to get in "5-7". Don't you think that if a rain/weather shortened game was a possibility, they'd just wait until tomorrow?
In addition, in a series, wouldn't they resume the game the next day if they had to call it in the 7th inning?
Oh the irony. The forecast for Lawrence, KS NEXT weekend is better than Austin THIS weekend. Y'all go and holler for us this weekend and we'll go and holler for y'all NEXT weekend. If our boys could pull off a sweep of Missou like they did back in 2003, maybe the KU Asst AD will come over and thank us for doing that to KU's rival again.
I think the high temperature today is expected to be 41. Sitting out there at Disch-Falk in a nice humid drizzle, with a north wind blowing, when it's 40 degrees? I may wait until Saturday or Sunday, call me a wimp.
there's still a lot of heavy rain coming, but I'm telling you if it stops around 5 or 6 like they say, they will play tonight - unless the temperature scares them. the field drains very quickly.
of course this could be like Jim Cramer telling you to "Buy Bear Stearns"
weak sauce. I covered Husky Baseball at the University of Washington in 2007. They have a field turf in-field and real grass outfield. They played in these conditions - sometimes worse- all the time.
I guess Big 12 officials just have thin skin.
