Friday game status

due to the chances of rain after 6pm falling, and the drainage on this new field is awesome, and I think they already would have postponed it if they were................ I think they will play. -- without my warm loving *** being there. If you don't mind baseball in 40 degree weather, start your engines.

P/C, curious why you keep referencing only needing to get in "5-7". Don't you think that if a rain/weather shortened game was a possibility, they'd just wait until tomorrow?

In addition, in a series, wouldn't they resume the game the next day if they had to call it in the 7th inning?

Thanks.

Oh the irony. The forecast for Lawrence, KS NEXT weekend is better than Austin THIS weekend. Y'all go and holler for us this weekend and we'll go and holler for y'all NEXT weekend. If our boys could pull off a sweep of Missou like they did back in 2003, maybe the KU Asst AD will come over and thank us for doing that to KU's rival again.

Fri Mar 20 Mostly Cloudy 56°- 36° 10%

Sat Mar 21 AM Clouds / PM Sun 56° - 33° 10%

Sun Mar 22 Sunny 56° - 42° 0%

Beat the HELL outta Missou!

I think the high temperature today is expected to be 41. Sitting out there at Disch-Falk in a nice humid drizzle, with a north wind blowing, when it's 40 degrees? I may wait until Saturday or Sunday, call me a wimp.

okay. You are a wimp.

there's still a lot of heavy rain coming, but I'm telling you if it stops around 5 or 6 like they say, they will play tonight - unless the temperature scares them. the field drains very quickly.

of course this could be like Jim Cramer telling you to "Buy Bear Stearns"

d1baseball.com says it's postponed to tomorrow, but i've seen no official word anywhere. Wonder where they're getting their info

Rain has subsided on campus but it's still cold and wet

Sports information sent out an email a few minutes ago. I'm sure they're writing up the press release right now. It should be on the website soon.

I was about to put some hot chocolate (with either vanilla vodka or peppermint schnapps) on the stove.

Guess I'll save that for tomorrow. It's going to be cold and wet then too, just not as wet.

weak sauce. I covered Husky Baseball at the University of Washington in 2007. They have a field turf in-field and real grass outfield. They played in these conditions - sometimes worse- all the time.
I guess Big 12 officials just have thin skin.

My guess is that rain at UW is the norm rather than the exception. Do they call the games if the sun's shining?
