Fresno's Tommy Mendonca ...

This guy is just simply unreal. Mendonca is this year's version of the 2005 David Maroul, on steroids.

The kid is only a Sophomore too. He has made the last 4 Fresno games entertaining as hell to watch ... diving stab on the 3rd base line, diving catch in the hole to save 2 runs, 425 ft 3-run bomb, spinning throw to hose a speedy runner at 1st, another 3-run HR, etc, etc, etc.

Mendonca has quickly become my favorite college player not on the Texas team, and I'll be rooting like hell for him, Susdorf, and Detwiler tonight.

It's like an entire team made up of Nick Peoples.

I agree he's been fun to watch -- all the Wunderdogs have been. Well, except for some of those pitchers: OUCH.

I am all-out rooting for Fresno State to win it all. Do it for Augie!

That was actually Detwiler with the HR, Mendonca has looked pretty bad with 2 K's tonight.

Solid in the field on 2 chances though.
