Early but Felix looks good. Horns started slow but seem to be picking up the pace. Ridley is wide. Horns up 17-13

Horns extremely cold from outside. You can see the potential of this team , but they are going to be a work in process but with the returning players look way ahead on defense from early last year.

Plain ugly on offense. Still seems to be primarily an iso system with little movement and relies too much on the guards to make their own space.

We need to improve the shooting. I thought they were hitting stuff pretty well in practice. Tonight it didn't show.

Lucky to get the win. Fresno seemed to get to every loose ball. Horns were careless with the ball. I agree the offense was ugly but it was hard to tell anything since they continually missed wide open looks. I hope Rodney Terry does good things at Fresno.

Ugly win but I will take it a win is a win. Texas has an extremely young basketball team that will be a work in progress all season long. I sure hope Kabongo gets back soon because we really do need him

Yeah it's fitting that after an offseason of "Kabongo can't do this-or-that" and "Barnes only brings in marginal players who leave early," Myck was the guy we missed the most out there last night. The entire team had 3 assists. Three.

Barnes still has issues getting his offensive ideas (or lack thereof) on the floor. Kabongo could help a little in that area.

 

[Third Coast]

A win doesn't get much uglier than that.

Yikes...this may be a very poor season for us. I hope this game isn't a sign of things to come and yes, we had two guys out, but usually we win these first couple of games by 20+.
