French Bulldog

The wife wants a French Bulldog.

A couple of friends told me that these dogs have a hard time with allergies in our climate (Houston). Anyone have any experience with these dogs or any knowledge of the allergies my friends are talking about? They tell me the folds in their skin get infected from the allergies.

Have a frenchy here in Houston. Yes there are some precautions you must take about leaving out in the heat. Cant take on long walks. The skin you can combat weith good dog food and shampoos- we have had 0 problems. Most important buy from a reputable breeder- i can reccommend if you are interested. The heat is more of an issue in Houston than the allergies. They can't be left outside for very long and you have to be careful with them when walking so they don't get overheated.
