French Airline Tax

Leave it to the French. I was flying through CDG on my way from Qatar to IAD. I had an upgrade on United pending which cleared enroute. When I got to CDG, I was told my upgrade had a 36 euro ($57) luxury tax for flying in Business class. What a crock!!! I know it's a small price to pay, but extortion none the less. I have never had another country pull this stunt. I would hate to see what the tax was for 1st class.

London Heathrow charges a premium class tax of 80 pounds - about $150. The tax on an economy ticket is about $75 so if you were flying through London, they would have hit you up for an additional $75 there.
