freecreditreport.com

F- R- E- E that spells free...... credit report.com baby

I admit, the first time I heard one it was different, but it has quickly taken on a life of its own, very much like the Dr Pepper Commercials-- although at least the Freecredit jingle doesnt **** up a good song, ala Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends......

The only place that's actually free to check your credit report isThe Link You can check one free one per year per reporting agency. I check one every 4 four months.

If you sign up with them, just try and cancel. You can't cancel online, have to dial a long distance number, wait on hold for at least an hour, then deal with the idiots trying to keep you on board. Not fun.

I signed up for my "free" credit report back in '96. The only way I could cancel that **** in '98 was to close the credit card they had on file. That is one big ******* scam that needs to take it in the rear end from the government.

I freakin HATE those commercials. The one about living in the basement because he married the girl with bad credit is especially tacky. I don't think they show that one much anymore. Besides, it didn't make much sense -- if his credit was so good, why didn't they just get a house in his name only?

I especially hate it when I get one of those damned jingles stuck in my head. It almost makes me want to ponder a lobotomy.

Why exactly would identity theft force you to work in a restaurant selling cowder and iced tea to tourists in T-shirts???

Bernard

i've wondered that as well, bernard.
maybe because they recognize that if it rhymes, it doesn't have to make any sense at all and people will think it's just super.

I wouldnt give a **** if that was the greatest service in the world, Id be damned before I would use it because of those gawdawful commercials!!!!!!

I think the commercials are funny, but also preposterous. Checking your credit doesn't enable you to buy more or better stuff, or have a better job, etc. Not mucking up your credit is what does that. It's weird. If only I'd checked my credit, I'd have a nicer car... huh?

Instead of using one of those opt out commercial services just go to annualcreditreport.com

link

You can use it once every 12 months. It is free with no strings attached.

There, fixed the link.
