Guys, thought I would pass on this free article on the Jr. Day this weekend. It has all the guys in attendance along with a brief write up on each attendee.

The biggest names in attendance are Jake Matthews and DeMarco Cobbs, the top player from OK. Our RB strategy will clear up after this weekend. I'm still betting Shead gets an offer and commits. I could see us extending an offer to a DT (Steward or Dorsey) and another WR or 2 (D. White, Apo, Cobbs already has one) and maybe Espinosa at OL. We might see some surprises this weekend. Hoping we don't reach too much this early, especially at WR which is so deep this year. Might we also see a commit or two from the previous Jr. Day? Adrian White? What do you guys think?

I'd love to see three or so recruits coming in this week commit, and perhaps create a sense of urgency on the part of some that were here earlier in the month to verbal as well. If we come out of this weekend with five or six verbals from the two junior days, it would be awesome.

After snooping around some more today it looks like there are a couple other guys that might get an offer and commitment. I'm betting we offer another DB. The guy I think might be in line for an offer is Bryant Jackson (#50 on the LSR 100). Jackson is another safety so I don't see this effecting Adrian White. Tyler Stephenson (73 on the LSR 100) might be the next guy in line.

Starchild, after seeing what happened to Jarvis Humphrey, I think the staff could offer another DT. You just can't have enough depth there. One guy that Scout may have overlooked is Torrea Peterson (91 on the LSR 100). Cedric Steward could be another guy that gets offered, and Ashton Dorsey is a guy that might do enough to be considered as well.

I still think when the dust settles we will have another 4 or 5 commitments at the end of the weekend. I think the most likely guys for commits are Shead, Espinosa, Bryant Jackson, Apo, and one of the DTs. Would be a huge weekend if Cobbs pulled the trigger and/or we make big progress with Jake Matthews.

I have zero information on this, just a hunch. I think Matthews has a very good visit and takes a much more serious look at us after this weekend. He can go where he wants out of state, but if he stays in state, the family gets to watch him for the next four years. The family gets to watch him WIN for the next four years if he comes to UT.

do we need another dt?

In a recent article in the SA Express/News about Calvin Howell, there was a mention in passing that he was not qualfied. Howell kind of blew it off saying he was close on his test score and wasn't worried, but his status may explain why we are still looking at DTs
