Free At Last Baylor Players Free At Last

Technically, we only have 1 scholly left to give if Fowler and Southall make it in.

As Hudson is not on that list of 3 (2 still unnamed), I'd go with OL J.P. Urquidez. But, if Hudson is available and wants to come, TAKE HIM! In either case, I hope we don't "have to take" Donovan.

Thanks for the updates, @easy.

The Big XII's own request for the release of the PH findings was measured in tone, but one suspects that behind the scenes the demand sounded a little more like the terms that William Wallace offered before the Battle of Stirling:

William: Here are Scotland's terms. Lower your flags, and march straight back to England, stopping at every home you pass by to beg forgiveness for a hundred years of theft, rape, and murder. Do that and your men shall live. Do it not, and every one of you will die today.
Cheltham: [laughs] You are outmatched. You have no heavy cavalry. In two centuries no army has won without —

William: I'm not finished! Before we let you leave, your commander must cross that field, present himself before this army, put his head between his legs, and kiss his own arse.

Cheltham got his head lopped off about 15 minutes after turning down that offer, and the Bears may finally be snapping to the notion that permanent banishment from power conference ball is absolutely on the table if they don't at least start to effectively feign contrition for the heinous acts that took place under Briles' watch. Considering the ridiculous spectacle that they've made of themselves at literally every step of the journey thusfar, their fate may already be ordained.

But at least five guys just got a reprieve from having to go down with them.

A few people reporting they have room for all of the guys I'm guessing more attrition is coming.
Martin is actually visiting today, I wonder what he plans on doing with that BU ink now

Maybe Briles and Starr can help him with a cover-up.

I'm thinking the NCAA told Baylor behind close doors to either release the players or they will. Kind of like a CEO given the option to resign and leave gracefully or he will be fired type of deal. Because they seemed firm at one point that they were not going to release them.

Donovan is the last one we should consider. The others like Cobb, Hudson, etc are beasts and need positions. Donovan is just a small CB we can get any time we want in any class. We need to win now, so if numbers are crunching, Charlie can't afford to take him with the need we have on the OL...We also don't want Cobb on the other side of the LOS in October.

Also may have told them they would not hammer them too badly if they released players on their own....This is very close to the death penalty anyway...A 2016 class destroyed and 2017 that will probably suck donkey butt....Titles are a thing of the past for Baylor now. UT, Tech, A&M, UH, TCU will overtake them in recruiting . They will join the ranks of Kansas; and the Big 12 has just become so much weaker in the eyes of the playoff committee. This Baylor thing will be the straw to indirectly bring down the Big 12 conference.

I think he and his brother are a package deal that's why he went Baylor the 1st time Texas didn't offer his brother the first go around correct me if I'm mistaken. But you notice he didn't sign his papers until his brother got his release. I think Cobb is going to be a sooner

The next dead period begins June 27, and then the next contact period does not begin again until July 11. In addition, UT 2nd summer session begins July 11.

Thus, it appears that if any of the Baylor players want to visit campus, they need to be in Austin this weekend

Yeah, the staff knows more than I, 4-shur. There's attrition to consider. That's why I said, "technically" - cuz when you look at the real numbers, we have 81 + Duvernay +(?) Fowler and Southall. That's 84.

Charlie may have some midi-chlorian voo-doo Force working things out as we speak.

This is not like the death penalty. It leaves SMU in a minor conference for good. I don't care who they hire to coach, SMU will never be a top 10 team again. It's like giving an athlete a hip replacement.

Kam Martin is visiting other schools this weekend. Higs also thinks he will go somewhere else

The consensus seems to be that we land --
JP Urquidez - possibly by tonight
P.Hudson
Donovan Duvernay

Sounds like Cobb has not made up his mind yet and may take one or two visits this weekend. We are one of the possibles with him.

So, 4 of the Baylor 5 are still possible.

This is part of the reason they keep missing out on good players. When are they going to realize that the kids read these boards and see the stuff they say about them and other players

Agree. They also assume being members of the SEC, in and of itself, is good enough to win recruits. If a kid is going because he wants to compete in that conference, then why pick aggy? They have Bama, LSU, Auburn, etc to choose from. Heck, why not Mizzou!? They have actually accomplished more than aggy in the SEC.

Texas, and Charlie over Sumlin, is more appealing to recruits. This is obvious to me, you and the rest of the world, but not poor aggy.
