Fredericksburg BB suggestions

The in-laws gave us a gift cert. to use at any one of a number of B&Bs in F'burg (Gastehaus Schmidt). We're planning to make a long weekend of it in mid April. We've never stayed @ a B&B in F'burg and would appreciate any tips/recommendations. The one we're leaning towards right now is at Palo Alto Creek Farms.

Thanks for any tips.

That's easy. Go to Kenneth Hall's place.

As I remember, It's in town on the road that goes to Boerne.

Thanks for the tips. We decided on Palo Alto Creek Farms, 'bout 4 miles north of town. Mid April should be a great time to be there.

My wife and I were in Fredericksburg in February and had a great time with some friends. Bring some bikes and do the Willow City Loop. It has a great view of the Texas Hill Country. Willow City Loop Road is a private road, therefore many (21) cattle guards and longhorns, but little traffic. We had no problems with the cattle guards on our Trek 1000s (thin road tires). Be warned, however, there is some climbing involved. We did the loop in a clock-wise direction, therefore starting in Willow City we did our downhill riding on Hwy 16 (wide shoulders) and uphill on Willow Loop. The last four miles on Willow Loop were uphill, but still it was a very good ride.

If you like to be completely secluded and alone I stayed at the Becker Vineyards in a log cabin on their property. I booked it through Gastehaus Schmidt (sp?).
Wine, cheeses, and breakfast are in your own little kitchen and the vineyard shuts down about 6:00 and you're there by yourself.
Pretty cool.
