Franklin's case for the Turkey

Franklin was a wise if randy old man who bestowed on us quite a legacy. I would have to read more of his specific writings on the turkey before presuming to add to your post on that account, however.

We do have plenty of turkeys - if you don't think so, just look at all the turkeys in Congress...

I've been wondering for weeks why you can never find Turkey eggs. I can probably buy duck and pigeon eggs, and possibly an ostrich egg, but never even heard of someone buying turkey eggs.

Little known fact: turkeys do not, as most avians do, reproduce via externally maturing eggs. They have offspring by live birth, which can be quite traumatic for mothers whose young are endowed with natal beaks.

OK not really. But it would explain the dearth of turkey eggs.
