Brett of the Oakland A's is due to start his first major league game Thursday against the Angels (FSSW announcers stated this today during the OSU/Tx game)

Brett is 20 and went to the majors directly from high school. I remember Brett being on the field with his Dad after the games at the Disch. Congratulations to the Anderson family.

Brett was 21 in February. He was player of the year as a Georgetown FRESHMAN in a tough baseball district and has played on several USA & Olympic teams. He's literally been at the top of every level baseball that he's played, but he's even a better person. His sister and he definitely get this from their parents: there are 4 great people in the Anderson family!

That link doesn't say he went to college. It only covers his minor league stats for 2007 & 2008. What did he do in 2006?

He was in high school.

He has been in the minors for two years before getting a spot with the big club this year.

Oh I get it now. He didn't go straight from high school to the show a la David Clyde. Duh!
