Found a crack pipe today.

Recently I received a certified letter from the City telling me I need to mow and remove debris from my properties. (Illegal dumpers - don't you just hate them?)

So I meet a fella out there to give me an estimate on the clean up and as we are walking the property, low and behold, a crackus pipus. Now, I don't know much about crack, heck - I don't even smoke cigs, but that was some nice craftsmanship on the pipe.... nice chrome and wood job.

After admiring the novelty, I chunked it back into the pile of debris. When I got home I told the wife about my serendipitous discovery. You have to know my wife, but she basically freaked. "Don't you know that pipe could have AIDS on it?!". Seems ridiculous, until you hear her tell it. Anyway, my mother-in-law (visiting from Canada), thought that was the coolest thing ever. She said I should have brought it home, cleaned it and made a place for it on the mantle. Yes, she's a lib. Isn't it illegal to have a crack pipe in your possession? And if so, somebody professionally made that pipe so how is that legal? And lastly - would you have chunked or kept the crack pipe?

Yes they are. So I have heard and seen on tv.

I know somebody that thinks AIDS is secretly an airborne pathogen and is being covered up by the world's governments to quell panic. I asked how he can think this is true when A. Governments cannot even get along with themselves let alone all other ones and, B. why are we all not dead by now?

His answer? "It's a conspiracy man". It must suck to live like this.
 
I’ve seen plenty episodes of Cops and they definitely arrest people for possession of drug paraphernalia. Doing anything other than throwing it away is a waste of time, unless of course, you're a hippie and are in to that kind of ****.

Now, I’m no doctor, but I don’t think you can contract aids from that, unless it had some blood in/on it…etc.

Marijuana pipe- if you have watched enough shows and understood how you turn crack into smoke it is by heating a glass pipe to the point where the crack reaches the point where it begins to smoke and then is inhaled. The thing that make crack so addictive and dangrous compared to snorting cocaine (neither is smart of good) is that the lungs are a very quick delivery system to the blood stream.

that is also why smoking marijuana to counteract nausea is much a much better delivery system than taking pills made of THC deriviative.

A pipe is just a pipe, unless it has drug residue on/in it, then its paraphenalia.

Not always the case. Acording to DEFINITIONS.USLEGAL.COM, items used for drug use or preperation is considered drug paraphenalia.

"The term ''drug paraphernalia'' means any equipment, product, or material of any kind which is primarily intended or designed for use in manufacturing, compounding, converting, concealing, producing, processing, preparing, injecting, ingesting, inhaling, or otherwise introducing into the human body a controlled substance, possession of which is unlawful under this subchapter. It includes items primarily intended or designed for use in ingesting, inhaling, or otherwise introducing marijuana, cocaine, hashish, hashish oil, PCP, or amphetamines into the human body, such as :

1.metal, wooden, acrylic, glass, stone, plastic, or ceramic pipes with or without screens, permanent screens, hashish heads, or punctured metal bowls;
2.water pipes
3.carburetion tubes and devices
4.smoking and carburetion masks
5.roach clips: meaning objects used to hold burning material, such as a marijuana cigarette, that has become too small or too short to be held in the hand
6.miniature spoons with level capacities of one-tenth cubic centimeter or less
7.chamber pipes
8.carburetor pipes
9.electric pipes
10.air-driven pipes
11.chillums
12.bongs
13.ice pipes or chillers
14.wired cigarette papers; or
15.cocaine freebase kits
Matters considered in determination of what constitutes drug paraphernalia:

In determining whether an item constitutes drug paraphernalia, in addition to all other logically relevant factors, the following may be considered:

1.instructions, oral or written, provided with the item concerning its use
2.descriptive materials accompanying the item which explain or depict its use
3.national and local advertising concerning its use
4.the manner in which the item is displayed for sale
5.whether the owner, or anyone in control of the item, is a legitimate supplier of like or related items to the community, such as a licensed distributor or dealer of tobacco products
6.direct or circumstantial evidence of the ratio of sales of the item(s) to the total sales of the business enterprise
7.the existence and scope of legitimate uses of the item in the community; and
8.expert testimony concerning its use
Exemptions

This section shall not apply to :

¡1. any person authorized by local, State, or Federal law to manufacture, possess, or distribute such items; or
¡2. any item that, in the normal lawful course of business, is imported, exported, transported, or sold through the mail or by any other means, and traditionally intended for use with tobacco products, including any pipe, paper, or accessory."
 
So your finger prints are on an illegal drug pipe that you just tossed back into trash pile. I watch CSI and you better account for yourself. Either the dude from New York, Miami or Vegas may be looking for you.......

A crack Pipe is made of metal or glass. It is a straight tube of uniform diameter (think straw) with a bit of wire mesh used as a screen. The reason it is straight and uniform is so it can be smoked from both ends and easily cleaned w/ screen. Once a few hits have been taken the metal screen can be pushed through pipe to other end and a 'free' hit can be taken from residue lining inside of tube. Metal TV antennae are commonly used as a crack pipe.
 
Pretty sure the posters are right about the crack pipe needing to be glass. How do I know, you ask? Well, a few years ago I was living at the Allen House in Houston and I wandered over to the local convenience store to try and buy a tobacco pipe (for the purpose of smoking some pot, as my glass pipe had broken and I was all out of apples and Coke cans). I neglected to specify what kind of pipe I wanted and the friendly clerk said that while they didn't have pipes, they did have miniature roses in glass tubes and steel wool...he then proceeded to explain to me in heavily accented English how I would go about crafting a crack pipe. At that point, I politely remarked that he had me figured out all wrong and wandered back to my apartment empty handed.
 
I have a friend who has been known to smoke crack every now and then and lo and behold last night I walk in to his closet and he is firing up a rock. The glass pipe is for crack smoking the wooden pipe is for the ganja.
 
I really hope you wern't refering to me. Because I have never and would never touch that **** with a ten foot pole. I do however refuse to turn my back on a friend with a terrible family life, drug and alcohol problems because if I am not there to try my best to help him than nobody is. If you weren't refering to me than my apologies but if you were maybe you should know what you are talking about before you speak.
 
sorry man I came off like a dick too. Hard day, wasn't held enough as a baby, all I have are excuses. Oh well hope you have a happy cinco de cuatro
