Former Sooner calls OU Football program 'dirty'

Not like I'm going to take up for the dirtburglars, but can you really call this guy a "former sooner"? He never played a down there and may just be grinding an axe. Or, he may be straight up. His history before and after Norman casts a little doubt on him. I am not surprised with ou taking a guy who was ineligle until a juco stint with character issues.

Whip me, beat me, make me start writing bad checks...I would have been more impressed if the comments had come from somebody who ever stepped on the field for zero u.

...and oh yeah, dog bites man.

well, he didn't really expand on the statement, but that was during or around the big red fiasco... so he is entitled to that opinion.

but ou's unofficial position is that he was lazy and that he wasn't committed to the summer conditioning program. just read the article about him and see if you think he is a guy looking to blame somebody.

Keith was signed by OU in '03. He had character issues coming out of HS when he was recruited by other Big 12 schools, which surfaced twice during his time at OU: once when he left and joined Northeastern before the '03 season and again when he got suspended in '05 after Stoops gave him a second chance.

He transferred to Northern Iowa for the remainder of his eligibility and got in the doghouse there when he went to a funeral, missed a workout and didn't tell anyone he was gone. In March he was arrested & charged with disorderly conduct with two other Northern Iowa players. His personal issues, according to some draft sources knocked him down a few rounds.

He was at OU during the Bomar/JD Quinn dismissals, so any information he gives wouldn't exactly be new or any different from other players with an ax to grind, including Quinn.

Nothing new here. This guy calling OU dirty is on par with a snitch being a witness. He has no credibility.

Now whether I think there were more people taking $$$ from big red is a different question that after some fancy shredding, we'll never know for sure unless someone feels guilty and fesses up.

Course it goes without saying. It's 1:39 and OU still sucks.

If OU had a squeaky clean reputation, then his credibility could be questioned. Since the opposite is true, his credibility doesn't matter since he's just repeating what is considered to be common knowledge.

I remember this young man. He had a lot of potential upside. Originally he couldn't qualify academically. Then he was unable to get along with just about anyone. A trend that seemed to continue with the other two programs he joined and the police.

It sucks that as OU Fans we can't hold our heads up like Texas Fans, and really all the fans of the defunct SWC's members, and yell from the tallest hilltops that we have never had any NCAA problems.

After all cheaters are cheaters. Once you have been caught you can't ever claim to pure without looking like an idiot, IMO.

which is why, if OU had ANY integrity at all, they would only claim about 3 of those tainted championships.....

What a pack of dishonest losers

Defending zero-u's record with the NCAA would take a tag team of Perry Mason and Matlock. I doubt any okie would want that job, truth be told.

UT isn't pristine with the NCAA either, but we're choir boys compared with what's historically gone on north of the Red River.

That being said, getting worked up over what somebody passing thru the zero-u football program had to say bad about 'em is ridiculous. That kid isn't gonna win a good conduct medal, and I doubt he'd have been happy anywhere he was.

It would be different if he named names and places. All he said was a general statement after the fact of a KNOWN incident. Either he doesn't know anything, or the reporter/ editor was too chicken to publish it.

He didn't get his Big Red Sportscar. Can you blame him for being a little upset?

One of the comments after that article made me laugh

"This kid has looked good all along--Promising big recruit of national power Oklahoma--didn't fit the scurvy mold"

Sounds like that would be more a problem at Texas Tech
