Former Baylor Assistant 'Blacklisted'

I hope thats not a serious post Nuclear....he blew the whistle on something which was wrong and your response is "doesnt pay to snitch?" What is this thread about--gangsta rap?

The reality is that, no matter the motivation, Rouse did the right thing in recording the conversations that helped lead to Bliss' downfall at Baylor.

The alternate reality is that no coach in his right mind will overlook what Rouse did, and give him a chance to get back into coaching. He likely won't even get the chance to coach high school basketball.

The Rouse story is further proof that there were no winners in the Baylor situation, just losers. Baylor's on the road to recovery with Drew, but time has run out on Rouse's coaching career. It's a sad situation with no apparent answer.

Coaches say all types of crap in the heat of the moment (Obviously not as bad as what Bliss did)

There is no way I would hire someone that i felt might secretly record me and either blackmail me, or send it to a major media center.

Coach K has probably the cleanest image in all of basketball and he echoes the same thoughts in that article.

ESPN? had the story of Bruce Pearl (coach of Tennessee) and how he wound up in the coaching doghouse for covert taping of a competitor(I believe)....they even had a an old tv segment of Dick Vitale ripping him a new one for what he did....its quite amazing how Pearl cameback after the incident which sounds similar to the Baylor coach.

Edit: The Pearl story was done by HBO 'Real Sports' this past March. Catch it if you can....youtube only has a snippet that I found.

The article mentions Pearl's situation. What he did was turn in Illinois, when he was at Iowa (I believe) because a recruit told him that Illinois offered him a car and money and asked what Iowa would offer.

The story mentioned that it took Pearl 12 years to get back into D1.
