I would imagine that the uncertainty regarding the collective bargaining agreement would give pause to underclassmen thinking about declaring for the draft. I believe the draft is prior to the expiration of the current agreement.
Selfishly, I hope both return. However, the reality is that there is a career out there for them in the NBA and if the NBA feels they are ready then they will probably go. I'm just glad they were Longhorns at all.
I have a good feeling they will stay. First consider the possible NBA lockout. Next you have the final ingredient for a Title with Myck Kabonga coming in.
Yes, this would be Texas best chance at a Title since TJ Ford was here and a good chance the Horns could be preseason #1.
Even if both come back and you go ahead and add Kabongo, TEXAS will have very little depth in the front court. They will not be a pre-season #1. That is a pipe dream.
A lot will depend on the development of Chapman and the ability of Holmes and Thomas to contribute as freshman. With improvement from Wangmene, it's not inconceivable that the front court could have better depth and versatility next season.
I thought Chapman was a senior this year? If that is incorrect then yes I agree with Third Coast, front court has a chance with the two freshman Holmes and Thomas.
