How does the pass rush look? I mean I know they protect well and the guy has a quick release so I wasn't expecting 4 sacks today. Listening in, it sounds like he's having to scramble, but I'm curious whether we're affecting his timing at all or if he's just dropping back and throwing?

FAU's line is pretty small, so I'm surprised we haven't gotten to their QB in time, but we're knocking him down most plays.

He's got a quick release and is good a getting rid of it. He never holds it more that 2-3 seconds. Not enough time to get pressure on him. He's an impressive quarterback.

Pass rush is ok. Their qb is alright though.

The truth is, our pass COVERAGE is ok. Our tackling in the secondary, however, sucks.

I'm actually a little relived to hear that falcon, because tackling can be fixed a lot easier than coverage issues, IMO. I think this is a tough opening task for the young guys in the secondary, and if they're at least in the right place, I'd be pretty happy about that.

we're playing a lot of good quarterbacks....with a lot of good, accurate arms....and a lot of quick releases...better scratch something together by the end of september

for those watching did melton start at the other end? is he playing? looks like he's been credited w/2 QBH but haven't heard anything of him on the audio broadcast

All things considered, our secondary is doing OK. FAU's receivers are tall and fast, and they run very well after the catch. Earl Thomas' whiff was probably our biggest mistake. He looks like a missile out there, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of those guys that just overruns the play now and again. Very aggressive.
