The Hilton is taking reservations at a rate SUBSTANTIALLY lower than they were getting even a few days prior to this year's event (and more than a hundred per night less than many had booked at). I elected not to pre-pay to save a few bucks but still got a rate that averages about $120 a night.
Others in the area indicate that they only book 50 weeks in advance, so those rates should be online in about a week and a half.
I still wish Starwood had properties closer than the Westin...I could have gotten in there on a cash and points deal for $45 a night plus 2800 points per night, which makes their usual ~$250 booking more like ~$75 a night. But...I'm too lazy to walk the 20 blocks to the Auditorium and too cheap to take a cab for that short of a distance.
The point to this rambling...get in while the rates are cheap. Absent a pre-pay situation, you can always cancel...
