For those eschewing Big 10 - Wisc. Postgame

You don't want to play there. Rust belt. Decline. Everyone is moving to the south and west. No one there. Hard to get to the games.

I clicked on a few of the related links and I have to admit,
when the opposing teams can't help to join in, that's pretty impressive.

These are the numbers for B1G attendance in 2010:01. Michigan: 108,93302. Penn State: 107,00803. Ohio State: 105,261
11. Nebraska: 85,664

15. Wisconsin: 80,109
18. Michigan State: 74,741
21. Iowa: 70,214
29. Illinois: 59,545
42. Minnesota: 50,805
44. Purdue: 50,457
56. Indiana: 41,833
83. Northwestern: 24,190

The Big 12 2010 average attendance:

05. Texas: 100,654
12. Oklahoma: 84,738
26. Missouri: 61,540

32. Texas Tech: 57,108
41. Oklahoma State: 50,812
43. Kansas State: 49,816
54. Iowa State: 45,395
55. Kansas: 44,851
61. Baylor: 40,043

And the SEC:

04. Alabama: 101,824
06. Tennessee: 99,781
07. Georgia: 92,746
08. LSU: 92,718
09. Florida: 90,511

25. Kentucky: 66,070
35. Mississippi: 55,898
37. Mississippi State: 54,999
72. Vanderbilt: 33,269

Can there be any doubt Texas ought to be in the SEC or B1G? The SEC puts more people in the stands, and, after adding A&M, the SEC may command more television than the B1G, especially if it adds Missouri. But if the B1G eventually adds ND ....

Here are some targets being discussed by the Big 12 and fans:

14. Notre Dame: 80,795

87. Colorado State: 22,400
89. New Mexico: 20,888
91. UNLV: 20,612
95. FIU: 19,808

Finally, the numbers from the PAC
:

15. Southern Cal: 79,907
23. Washington: 66,264
28. UCLA: 60,376
29. Oregon: 59,398
31. Cal: 57,873
36. Arizona: 55,408

51. Oregon State: 45,509
52. Utah: 45,459
62. Stanford: 40,042
83. Washington State: 24,532

Is it any wonder the PAC catches hell for attendance?

Jctex - have you been to any BIG cities? On game day? I have. I've seen football games at Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

Incredible game day experiences.

BIG fans are great. Stadiums sell out. Unlike the PAC.

That was neat. Before, I had thought the "Jump Around" thing was kind of lame--mostly because it involves piped-in music and not music from the band. But after watching that, it looks pretty cool--lots of great energy in that stadium.

Guys, re-calibrate your sarcasm-meters. I'm with XOVER, I think Texas plus ND to the B1G is the best option long-term. I kinda hope Mizzou forces it to happen sooner than later . . .

I'd bet little ole TCU cancelled the jump around at the Rose Bowl

Watching Big Ten football in Penn State's Beaver Stadium is a great experience. The stadium is downright ugly from the outside though.
I've seen games at Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and, Penn State. I'm sold on the Big Ten. If UT is onto revenue and national exposure, the Big Ten is the place to go.
