The educrats are trying to get involved at Auburn, which means that in three years, Auburn will be looking again.
he’s talkin’ outta his a** and his mouth simultaneously.
To me Auburn seems like the biggest cluster of a school (with respect to their football program) in the FBS. Classless act for sure. The educrats are trying to get involved at Auburn, which means that in three years, Auburn will be looking again.
But we need the current "Brocks" to bring the program back to prominence and get the future "Brocks", so....Fair enough. But bring the program back to prominence and the future Brockermeyers of the state will be wearing burnt orange.
Agents love us
"Agents love us, financial planners adore us...
I mean, even the ones who never saw us..."
The problem is Herman. Parents and recruits know that something is not right in Austin. As I have reported multiple times, Ewers parents said as much to a friend of mine late last month. But we need the current "Brocks" to bring the program back to prominence and get the future "Brocks", so....
I remember the 2014 draft. I remember being dumbfounded that no one was drafted from Texas. That was a jaw dropping shock. We ranked 6 in recruiting in 2009 and 2 in 2010, 4 in 2011, yet no one drafted in 2014. Talk about being overrated. Nice post, joefan.Since some people have short memories about Mack's final years ...
Here are the rankings of his final 4 recruiting classes. The rankings were fraudulent. By this time, Mack and his assistants had gotten lazy. They hated the travel. They stopped going to the games and to the high schools. They were making offers based off phone calls from HS coaches they were friends with, without even seeing the player first hand. They made a lot of offers based off who they liked at our summer camps (camps helped avoid travel). They even made some offers based off paysite rankings. Those same paysites then gave players who committed to us a bump in the rankings, which further inflated the team's national recruiting ranking (see below). We also were not doing the full "background checks" anymore, which caused all sorts of off the field and in the classroom problems down the road.
Now for the reality check - these 4 classes (90 players from 2010-2013) collectively yielded just 6 total NFL draft picks.
We had ZERO players drafted in 2014 (first time that happened to us since 1937) - the NFL was not fooled by our paper rankings.

ps1 - We had one player drafted in 2017 but he was a Strong commit - D'Onta Foreman
ps2 -- Adrian Colbert was also drafted but that was as a Miami Hurricane grad transfer player
Malzahn is interesting.
Gus would be a huge upgrade, plus we's only have to pay him like 100K a year and let Auburn continue to pay the rest.I think coach Traylor would make a good coach.
But it's a risk because of the big buy-out.
He would certainly get recruiting back in order. I think he can do it. It's not going to happen though.
Malzahn is interesting.
I've never been overly impressed by Malzhan. He needed 2 miracle plays against Georgia and Alabama to make the CCG in '13. Last year 2 pick 6's and a missed FG late to beat Alabama. In a bad sorta way
how have programs gotten to where they sign contracts with guys that force them to continue to pay these clowns when they run the program into the ground.
I was just being rhetorical lol.Dumbass school presidents & ADs, who have no clue what they are doing by hiring the likes of KornFairy & Chuckie NeinASS to advise them, when NOBODY will follow the money trail.
Do you think DKR used a "search firm" to find Mack Brown? Did Governor Shivers and Frank Erwin used a "search firm" to find Fred Akers phone number?
How many ADs are there in this country that you would let bring you coffee? Be grateful that Chris understands my statement - "All I want in business is an unfair advantage". As far as schools presidents, there ain't one that has a clue. The closest was Bill Schnkir (sp) at University of Virginia. Bill graduated from HS in San Antonio (South SA HS I believe), BBA from A&M, MBA & PhD in business from Texas. He loved football and gave over $100,000 a year to UVA football. He would have made us a great president back in the mid 90s, but his wife got sick.
