Tom needs to throw the binder away and let Yurcich (sp?) run the offense in a sensible manner. Maybe he’ll be smart enough to go for the chip shot FG when he’s only up by 4 late in the 4th qtr.

This is the missing element in most TH discussions. Had he handled the politics differently, the heat would be much less intense.
 
If he goes undefeated and wins a NC, oh hell that’s funny, I still want him gone. Would never happen anyway. Couldn’t win jack with a senior quarterback.
 
Weren't a lot of fans on this thread clamoring for Mullen if/when we struck out on UM. Watch how he handled the LSU game management tonight. He made lots of moves that make Herman look like a Mensa.

And also maybe he would let Sam be under center to do the QB sneak instead of 3 yards back. We failed miserably because the d-line and linebackers had more time and space to prevent Sam from advancing.
I am kind of laughing now but at that time I was mad. :lmao:
Hell, LSU ran the same play today except they were successful because the quarterback was under center plus he got some help from his running back pushing him in. Who's the mensa now?
 
I hope the primary condition of him staying is he must hire an offensive line coach who will be considered one of the top 5 offensive line coaches in the country. I don't know who these guys are, but this position needs fixed. 4th and one should be automatic in this conference even if your play call stinks.
 
My 2 cents -- the pursuit of Meyer was perhaps the most exciting period of Texas football in the past 11 years. It was entertaining and, at times, very funny. But, it fizzled in the end, just like everything else this program attempts. With the return of reality, it's neither fun nor funny anymore. I am sick of Texas Football losing and being the butt of jokes. I have never minded other programs or their fans hating us -- it comes with the territory when you are among the winningest programs of all time. But now it is just sad and pathetic.

They don't hate us for being one of the winningest programs of all time. They hate us for being a bunch of effete snobs who think they're better than everyone else in every regard.

when your a lame duck it’s kind of hard to get top talent to leave their current gig for what might be a 1 year job.

Prior to last summer, I would have said the same. After Herman's botching of "The Eyes of Texas" I will just have to wait to see if Menses has learned anything at all.

Many were no doubt calling for “Separate Ways”. Sunshine pumpers were calling for “Don’t Stop Believing.” Tom himself was thinking “Wheel in the Sky Keeps on Turning; Don’t Know Where I’ll be Tomorrow.”

This entire sorry saga could be told by Journey songs...

Yep, our prospects with a new QB next year don't seem promising. Never mind that the land thief coach up there took a true freshman QB and by the end of the year had him playing extremely well. The prospects of TH taking a redshirt soph QB or redshirt freshman QB and doing that are slim and none.
