I live in London, and I've never even been to the US, but I've been watching all the televised Longhorns games for over 3 years.

Today I booked my flights for a week in Austin in October, taking in the OSU and OU games, as well as all the sights, sounds and tastes of Austin that I've heard so much about - so keep it coming with all the best bars, restaurants and bbq threads - I'll only have a week to experience it all.

wow, congratulations. You're going to love it here. One thing tho, the weather in Texas during Oct is notoriously unpredictable. It can be 35 one day and 90 the next (degrees, not celsius), or it can all happen in a single day. It may be unbelievably sunny and either 30 degrees or 90 degrees, or it can be unbelievably cloudy and either 30 degrees or 90. In short, prepare for anything except a blizzard.

In short, I'm an ex of a Texas-ex.
My girlfriend a few years ago, took me along to one of the London screenings of a game. I've long since split up with her, but I've been hooked ever since.

Women may come and go, but I'm 'horns for life.

I've spent quite a bit of time in London. One of my favorite places. Let us know if you need a group to party with on OU weekend.

That is really cool...

It will most likely still be in the low 90s, perhaps as low as the mid-80s (F), when you come in October.

I wouldn't waste your luggage space with any big coats or scarves or anything else for cold weather, but then again, the 2000 OU game was played in the near-freezing drizzle, so you never know.

Also-
You do know that the OU game is in Dallas, right? Just wanted to make sure you knew that...

Hope you enjoy Austin.

I hope this will help. The Link
it for the austin convention and visitors bureau. Make sure you get the right city of Austin, because there are a few in America. Check austin360.com for info also. The austin convention and visitors bureau also has a 101 things to do in Austin guide, ask them to send it to you. Hope you enjoy Austin. Make sure you do not leave Austin without having some texmex food. there are tons of great texmex restaurants in austin, such as Chuy's on Barton Springs Rd. I would also put your post on the football board if the moderators will let you, since it gets about 100 times more traffic than this board.
