For all you WoW nerds out there...

I'm not sure you can call WoW players nerds. That would imply that they are smart. I think geeks would seem more appropriate. And I don't get that clip either.

Whenever you get a high enough level you start going on "raiding parties" with a big group of people to obtain the upper level swag in the game.

The group of people commonly use Team Speak, a server program that lets you voice chat with all the other members of your group. That is where this was taken from.

You form 8 parties and each party gets a certain responsibility. There are healers and warriors and so on and so forth. One guy acts like a leader and conducts these little "raids."

They are very time consuming. We are talking hours of your life.

The term "aggro" (aggravate) is basically what you do to engage an enemy.

In this excert, this "raid party" spent hours preparing their plan to take down the big, bad dragon Onyxia. This dragon is surrounded by eggs that, when "aggroed" spit out smaller dragons. The main goal is to kill Onyxia and then kill off the eggs, because Onyxia by itself is hard enough.

Anyway, these guys spend hours of their college life not getting laid, drinking, or studying preparing for this so that maybe they can get some pretty cool **** out of it.

So they get it started up and go through the routine that they spent hours going over. During the routine one guy fucks up and wakes up the little dragons, basically at the most important part of the battle. The little dragons then proceed to "wipe" the entire raid party. Wipe means that everyone gets killed quickly and there is nothing they could have done about it.

Add the fact that some of these guys illegaly sell the swag they collect for hundreds of dollars a pop in real, tangible, money makes ******* up a raid basically earn you a death sentence in their eyes.

Want more WoW nerds, look up Leeroy Jenkins...

Never said I didn't play. I did play.

My point was that guys like the Raid leader in the link who get that upset have a very good chance of falling into my generalization.

It was a generalization. I was also a WoW nerd at one time, but if you can't laugh at yourself...

Everything I know about WoW I learned from the South Park WoW episode. I work in software R&D so a majorty of my coworkers spend their lives indoors playing video games all day.

Anyway, that episode was so ridiculously absurd that I figred it was a severe exaggeration since almost all South Park episodes are.

The guys said it was pretty accurate and not too far off.

It always cracks me up when people with more than 5,000 posts on a message board spend time arguing about what makes people geeks or nerds.

I was a Holy Priest so people were yelling at me a lot. Got up to lvl. 50 then quit. It got to be too serious and people were making it more work and less fun.

Yes, but only so long as you said something like, "don't just stare at it, eat it" or "that's a very fine Chardonnay you're not drinking."

am i the only one that hears "one night in Bangkok" when I see HIHK's name and sig? (and yes i know that hong kong is not in thailand.)

ok, that rivals leroi jenkins. i've never played wow, but i was in hihk's guild for the shadowbane abortion.

the best part is the meltdown when the douche walks into the eggs. heh.
