For all 'Major League' fans...

Awesome article. They really hit a home run (pun intended) with that cast. Nice to see that Charlie Sheen couldn't take a break from the coke to sit for the interview.

Baseball is my least favorite of the three major sports, but most of my favorite sports movies are about baseball.

Bull Durham
Field of Dreams
Major League
Bad News Bears

Baseball movies, yes, and it's really not even close. Only Hoosiers can compare. There are no good football movies that aren't a little cheesy (Rudy and Remember the Titans).

"Look at THIS fuckin' guy."

"We wear caps and sleeves at this level, son."

"Want me to drag him outside? Kick the **** out of him?"

"I look like a banker in this."

"Dynamite drop-in, Monty - that broadcasting school really paid off."

"Hit.....caught."

"Me? I'm for wasting sportswriters' time, so I say we give 'em a big ole shitburger to eat."

""Who da **** are deez guys?" "You know deez guys ain't so fuckin' bad."

major league was maybe the best comedy sports movie.

slapshots was a funny non-baseball movie.

north dallas forty is the only semi-decent football movie i can think of.

i thought bull durham was better but major league is pretty good. rene russo is still looking good at 57.

great movie and I agree with the Renee Russo comment whole heartedly.

I am curious about the term the 'three major sports' I usually here about the 4 major sports in the US, which really is 5 now with the advent of the MLS.

And another great great sports movie is Tin Cup. I am not a huge golf fan, but I am a fan of that movie... again maybe it has something to do with Renee Russo?

And Hoosiers IS the greatest sports movie of all time although I can't believe The Natural hasn't been mentioned yet.

THEU, my omission of The Natural was intentional. I may be in a tiny minority, but that movie just doesn't do it for me. I think Robert Redford is one of most overrated actors of all time and this movie was an example of his very limited range. I certainly understand if most others disagree with me.

I'm with you on Hoosiers. Outstanding flick with a timeless musical score. Hoosiers and Bull Durham are my co-leaders of favorite sports movies.

I enjoyed 61* as much as I've ever enjoyed any baseball movie. Excellent casting for the roles of Mantle and Maris. Jeez, Thomas Jane and Barry Pepper LOOKED just like Mantle and Maris.

I think the best sports movie ever made was Slap Shot, followed closely by Caddyshack and Brian's Song.
