Sucks that we lost basketball and now are top 3 main sports are all the lowest performing at UT (or hoops will be in a few weeks)...

Go Women's Tennis, Men's Swimming, and Crew!!!!

Looking at all sports, Horns this year are outpacing its results from last year when it won its 2nd straight Learfield Cup. Men bball just needs to win two tourney games to perform better than last year. Factually, the performances were worse last year for football and basketball.

Why are you including baseball in your lament? There is a modest chance that Horns can return to Omaha this year.

We didn’t replace any of the talent, whiffed on transfer portal, and probably not going to be even ranked.
I’m going to have to strongly disagree with you here.

Didn’t replace any talent and whiffed on the transfer portal???

Porter Brown (TCU) tore it up in Fall Ball. O’Dowd is knocking out homers like it’s batting practice. Charlie Hurley (USC) will be our #2 starter and may challenge for All-Conference 2nd team or Honorable Mention. Heston Tole (Arkansas) is a good reliever. And get this … :drummernana::drummernana::drummernana::drummernana::drummernana: …Incoming Freshman pitcher Max Grubbs WILL BE BETTER THAN ANY RELIEVER WE HAD LAST YEAR. (not including the injured Tanner Witt, of course) Grubbs will be one of the top relievers in the conference. He'll challenge for All-American before he leaves the 40 acres. You heard it here first. The bullpen will be noticeably improved from last year.

Lucas “Geno” Gordon was the best starting pitcher in the conference last year — the numbers don’t lie, he had by far the lowest ERA in the entire conference for starting pitchers. Best I’ve ever seen at the college level at working the change-ups at multiple different speeds to baffle batters. Paints the corners like Van Rijn. Smartest pitcher in the land. Geno will be the best starting pitcher in the conference AGAIN.

Campbell might lead the conference in home runs.

We’re still loaded, even in a rebuilding year.

And keep an eye on Chris Stuart, an incoming Jr pitcher from San Jac JC. He tore it up at San Jac—the Kings of JC baseball. He’s originally from The Netherlands.

But since this is supposed to be a football forum—go team! Block! Tackle! Penetrate the red zone!

One might take into account that longhorn sports succeed the most where the least television revenue is involved.

For instance how much money have out of state universities spent recruiting and educating Texas native football and basketball players since scholarship limits were enacted? My guess would be over a billion by now.

Gly
How many football and basketball players are eligible for schollies EACH year in Texas. Does each Texas school have scholarship limits? Sure there will always be big time Texas born players who end up out of state.
Are there any big time players from out of state who play in Texas?
