Not sure if anyone has watched this show, but dude always came off as pompous.
The Link

Celebrity chef Robert Irvine blew into town two years ago with the panache of royalty, the ego of a TV star and a plan to turn St. Petersburg into "the next Monaco."

He was about to launch a show on the Food Network, Dinner: Impossible, and was writing a cookbook. Soon the muscle-bound Brit was downing oysters, clinking glasses and telling incredible tales.

He was a knight. He owned a castle in Scotland. He had cooked for presidents and royalty and was pals with Prince Charles.

Robert Irvine's magnum opus - side-by-side restaurants called Ooze and Schmooze - was supposed to redefine upscale dining.

The restaurants would open with 7,000 square feet at the base of a sparkling condominium tower at 400 Beach Drive, a crepe toss from sailboats lolling on Vinoy Basin. He promised chef's tasting menus, polished personal service and 100 wines.

Everyone bought it.

He had one a couple of weeks ago where he had to run a bakery through out the night and get something like 500 items done. He claimed that the last time he baked was for Charles and Dianna's wedding. I don't know if that is true or not, but the dude is a dufus.

Found this on Wikipedia...Fired!!

Food Network's response to the article

In response to the Times article, the Food Network pulled Irvine's biography from its website, and issued a statement indicating Irvine's claims would be investigated. Beginning with the episodes that aired February 20, 2008, the opening sequence of Dinner: Impossible was re-edited to remove Irvine's disputed credentials.

On February 29, 2008 Food Network issued a qualified statement that Irvine had been fired as Dinner: Impossible host and is looking for a replacement host.

I saw an episode where he cooked a meal for VIP's at a football game within just a few hours and he had to do it with only scraps he could find from other tailgaters in the parking lot.

Dude was all over the place. Very impressive.

You mean the network is upset they got duped by a this guy before they could put him into a scripted reality show that duped the public? I can see how they would be mad about it.

This is so stupid.

He fudged a couple things on a resume that he submitted to become a reality show cook? Who gives a ****.

His performance on the show was pretty good, and it was always entertaining. I don't give a **** if he baked a certain wedding cake, or cooked in the white house.

Who gives a ****?

My wife and I went on vacation to Hawaii this past December, and we went to the luau featured on Dinner: Impossible a couple of weeks ago. It was quite a spectacle, and we got $50 off the normal price due to the Food Network taping. The only problem was by the time our table was called, there was no food left (except for some pork). For some reason this wasn't mentioned in the episode.

When I clicked on this thread I thought it would be about other similar instances of Dinner: Unfinished. Hopefully chef Robert's replacement is held accountable for the show results as well as his resume.
