Texas 247sports.com Recapping-a-wild-recruiting weekend

Saturday was without question one of the busiest Longhorn recruiting days in recent memory.

Terrell Cuney became the Longhorns ninth 2014 commitment on Saturday.

The final day of the Texas Relays leading up to the 2013 Orange-White game produced a new commitment in the class of 2015 and two more in the class of 2014. That's on top of the 2015 commitment the Longhorns landed on Friday.

Here's a recap of what you missed to this point this weekend.

*****

The Longhorns picked verbal commitments in the class of 2014 from the following recruits:

Jasper C Terrell Cuney
San Antonio Warren DT Trey Lealaimatafao

Cuney (6-3, 260) committed early Saturday afternoon. Lealaimatafao (6-1, 297) committed to the coaches after the spring game. The commitments take the Longhorns' total in the class of 2014 to ten verbal commitments.

*****

Texas also received two commitments from recruits in the class of 2015:

JW Ketchum was one of six 2015 recruits offered on Saturday.

DeSoto DT Bryce English
Corpus Christi Flour Bluff CB Jalen Campbell

English (5-11, 305) committed on Friday during an unofficial visit, the same say he picked up his offer. Campbell (5-9.5, 166) committed right before the start of the spring game. English and Campbell join Sherman offensive lineman Aaron Garza as members of the Longhorns' 2015 recruiting class.

One offer went out in the class of 2014 this weekend as Longview wide receiver Dorian Leonard was offered by the Longhorns. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Leonard is also holding offers from Oregon State, Florida State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech.

Several offers went out in the class of 2015 with the following recruits leaving town with offers:

Fort Bend Marshall QB JW Ketchum
Plano West RB Soso Jamabo
Sulphur Springs WR/S Larry Pryor
Ennis DE James Lockhart
Dallas Skyline LB Anthony Wheeler
West Orange-Stark S Deionte Thompson – Committed to Alabama

*****

Four-star WR Trey Quinn was among the key 2014 visitors on Saturday.

In addition to the offers extended today, the Longhorns have also offered the following prospects in the class of 2015:

Rockwall RB Chris Warren
Gladewater DT Daylon Mack
Fort Bend Marshall CB Kendall Sheffield
Mesquite Poteet LB Malik Jefferson
Houston Clear Lake TE Jordan Davis
Fort Bend Ridge Point LB Cameron Townsend
Keller OL Maea Teuhema
Lewisville Hebron OL Zach Rogers

*****

On Saturday the Longhorns hosted several priority recruits in the class of 2014 who currently hold a Texas offer. Those prospects were:

Lake Charles (La.) Barbe WR Trey Quinn
Texas City WR Armanti Foreman
Abilene DE Jake McMillon
Katy Seven Lake DE Jarrett Johnson
Keller DE Sione Teuhema
New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine
DT Courtney Garnett
Cy Falls LB Otaro Alaka
Beaumont Ozen CB Tony Brown
Fort Bend Travis CB Nick Harvey – Committed to Texas A&M
Lewisville Hebron S Jamal Adams
Brenham S Darrion Johnson

Thanks for the summary.

I always had a little trouble keeping up with all the names and position needs, especially early in the recruiting cycle. But now, recruiting 2 classes at the same time, it's going to be very confusing to me.
