Follow Al Gore's Examp.-It's Going to Be Alright!

That's hilarious.

About three years ago, I had to take a geology class in which the professor was this twenty-something, somewhat hottie, that had just graduated from grad school. She spent half the semester trying to indoctrinate her students. At one point she forced the class to watch An Inconvenient Truth. I walked out.

Finally, I confronted her in class about her global warming claim. She stated, among other things, that there has never been a peer-reviewed study refuting global warming AND that I had no business confronting her because she had a grad school degree.

So, that night, I took it upon myself to do a little research. I brought into class, the next day, a stack of over 500 pages of peer reviewed refutations to global warming along with pictures of Al Gore's Nashville mansion, yacht and plane. I also had a pie graph that showed how miniscule carbon dioxide is in comparison to other greenhouse gases AND how miniscule man-made carbon dioxide is to this amount. I apologized for the carbon footprint my 300 pages left. She was literally speechless. Still got an A in the class.

BTW, I left her class at the end of the semester as a friend. We came to a mutual agreement on other topics such as hilltop removal here in East Tennessee and Kentucky.

Thats funny. I'm a geologist, so I can appreciate how some stuffy geologists can be. I'm skeptical by nature, so if someone is pushing an agenda, where they stand to gain in some way, be it financial or political, then I will do my own due diligence to arrive at my conclusions.

Having said that I do believe that we are seeing global warming. There's plenty of evidence that can be shown to support increasing temperatatures across the planet; however to what extent that warming is due to anthropogenic conditions is certainly up for debate. I imagine that man is having some sort of effect on the planet, but there are likely natural causes that are impacting the planet as well, that have nothing to do with man.

UTEric:

I too believe that man is having somewhat of a negative impact on the climate. Like you, how much is up for debate. The problem I have is people like Gore spouting his nonsense and then living a life of extravagance AND making money off his ******** claims.

The geology professor took the wrong path when she stated - what I assumed she knew to be - a falsehood in that there has never been a peer reviewed article disputing man made global warming. Not everyone in college is there to sop up the utter nonsense that many professors are spouting without actually doing seeking the truth on their own.
