FNL Season Finale

I saw the whole season...and it's the best show on T.V. Absolute crime that NBC put on Knight Rider in its old time slot.
I'll just say if they want another season, it sets up interestingly, but if that was the series finale, it was a great swan song with a strong statement about loyalty and small town America (which is the whole theme of the show).

UT also got a lot
of plugs.

I agree it works either way. The one thing I didn't like was Tyra gettting into UT. With the competitiveness of admissions these days I don't think a student of Tyra's caliber would have a chance at all.

I've known real people in the real world (like some of my former students) who have been accepted to UT with less of a chance than Tyra had in a TV script. I'm just glad she didn't follow Smash to aggy...

Strange things happen...sometimes to the strangest folks.

I like the show but thought the finale was overly sentimental and annoying. The idea that a player's dad could get coach Taylor fired for some young hotshot after he took the team to one state championship and another final in three years is ridiculous. Just like the idea that they would start a freshman JD McCoy over a senior QB who won them state as a sophomore.

I also get a kick about how they play games with the age of the characters so they can be kept around. For instance, in the first season, both Saracin and Landry were clearly sophomores (and Landry was driving) but now after three seasons he mysteriously has another year of school. Riggins and Jason Street were also portrayed as being in the same class, but somehow Riggins is still a senior (and now amazingly the same age as Saracin).

All that aside I really like the show and have a sinking feeling we just saw the last episode.

I've really enjoyed the show...just watched the finale last night. I'll miss it if it is gone.

I did notice that I thought it was weird toward the end of Season 1 when Riggens was suddenly a sophomore. It seemed clear he was a senior at the beginning, but I went back and there weren't any direct references to it.

The Tyra story was more clear to life then the previous poster my know. Especially the trip to see the admission officer. My mother became a known quantity at the Houston Regional Admission office. My brother and sister got in and earned their degrees because of the portfolios she continually and repeatedly presented to the employees there.

Bold Prediction: If the show comes back East Dillon is going to get crushed by Dillon in the regular season, but will upset them in the playoffs...probably on a last second play.
