Florida Democrats will not get a 'do-over' vote

In reply to: [hr]The Florida Democratic Party gave up on trying for a "do-over" presidential primary. Democratic Party Chairwoman Karen Thurman, who last week proposed a combination of vote-by-mail and in-person balloting, said the state party will continue its efforts to get the state's 211-vote delegation to the Democratic National Convention seated in Denver next summer. But without support from either remaining presidential candidate, the idea of a $12 million "mulligan primary" next June fizzled. Thurman put the idea out for responses from party members last Thursday. "We spent the weekend reviewing your messages and while your reasons vary widely, the consensus is clear: Florida doesn't want to vote again," Thurman said in an e-mail to party members late today.
