think some areas are going down but some are still being evacuated..........Amite River is in record flood............many areas got between 25-30 inches of rain in a 4 day period (some even more!Wow, I know right where that is. Any sign of improving weather today?
This was us in Houston in April this year. Could have filled the California reservoirs 3 times over. Seemed like it was at least minor flooding at least once a week for a month and a half and then we had the big one.this puts the rain in perspective quite nicely!

Yup I live in SW Houston just inside the 610 loop, Braes Bayou and Meyerland just south of us were total losses for the second year in a row. This exactly...only for some of us north of Houston, it was the rains in May that packed the wallop. The upside (for me) is that while there was street flooding that was above my knees and kept me from getting to my house by car, I learned that my house is still safe even if Lake Conroe were to crest the dam...although those downstream from the dam are going to be looking like those Louisiana shots. During May, the lake got to just over 205' from what the SJRA page showed, which is four feet over full pool.
