Flights to Vegas

Going to Vegas in October for a couple of nights. Flights are a little more expensive right now then they were with my previous Vegas trips.

I remember Vegas flights always being cheap. Is it too early to book for October? Pricing going to go up or down?

Sign up for Southwest Air "Ding Rates".

I've seen some $109 each way to Vegas from Austin now & then.

Right now on their travel center, it's $129 each way.

Pricing will absolutely plummet...wait until the day before your trip...

Seriously, you're asking whether anything at all involving fuel is going to get more or less expensive? Turn on the news...

I dont know if you are particular which airline you fly, but we went to Vegas in May and bought a package from US Airways. We got round trip airfare and 3 nights at Bellagio for $520. Flight was direct, too, no connection.

Are you in Texas? You can fly out of McAllen for $29 with Allegiant Air. I've flown with them; it is an excellent value.

Right now, Allegiant Air shows flights from McAllen to Vegas in October priced from $149 to $209, each way.

They do have flights on the 24th and 25th of June priced at $29.

I just bought round trip tickets from Austin to Vegas for a weekend trip in October. I paid 305 round trip including all the fees. There were some cheaper flights, but I refuse to fly out at 7am on Sunday...

You used to be able to fly to Vegas for 150 total round trip. Those days are gone.

yeah, you need to wait to buy flights from allegiant..tickets get lower as they look to fill the plane..

Flew from SA a couple of months ago because the flights were direct and ALOT cheaper than flying from ATX. Check that, it may be worth the 85 mile drive to San Antonio.

Unfortunately I fear safety of the planes is one of the things that is going to be reduced due to the dollar crunch for these airlines.

book asap.
unless they're a "special feature" type of fare that happens to just show up as a vacation getaway package, the earlier the better. i fly every week for business and never see fares drop the week of a flight. they always increase starting 21 days in.

some people believe in buying on tuesday and wednesday for cheapest fare refreshes, but it's very hit-or-miss nowadays.

itasoftware.com and farecompare.com are great tools to use to monitor flight prices, although they may ignore southwest or the tinier airlines.

flyertalk.com is a great forum you can browse also.

Thanks guys. I'll probably book pretty soon. Thought I was going to get a flight for really cheap, but I guess $200s and $300s is cheap nowadays.

Don't pay anything above $300 or so... Southwest round-trip vouchers can be had for that much on Ebay/Craigslist.
