Ive updated my camera several times, but im still using the same media cards i purchased years ago. are the new ones faster?? I somtimes think my camera has to wait for the card to save the image before it will let me shoot again.

Short answer: Yes. What kind? CF? Smart Media? MicroDrive? Sony's memory stick?

One thing for sure, the prices have dropped DRASTICALLY. 2 years ago, a 1gig CF card was almost $600. You can now find them for less than $100.

The new cards supposedly have faster access times, much like newer cameras are said to have faster access time. How much faster? Probably have to read a tech site to find out.
