Five Guys

I haven't been to the original in DC, but I've been to their chain in North Carolina. I thought it was okay; better than Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger, etc. But, no different than some others.

100% of fast food burgers are cooked 'well done.' This is how ground beef is recommended to be cooked due to the fact that all of the meat has been exposed to the air and thus has the possibility of being 'contaminated.' Not that meat is bad, but ground beef is normally cooked with no pink or red at all. This doesn't mean they have to be burned to a crisp.
This is coming from a guy who orders steaks med. rare, and I even take the risk and get my burgers mediu at Fudrucker's and places like that. ALL fast food places cook 'em well done. Just think back to the Jack N the Box food issues to see why.

I only know of it when there was one and it was magnificent. If it is anywhere near the quality I remember from when living in that area near D.C. then Casino and others have a run for their money. Their fries are amazing. I am so happy for their success.

I went to their online menu and noticed a few interesting things....

Their fries are cooked in peanut oil.... just wanted to point that out for so many who have peanut allergies or people with kids who do.

Also, I noticed you can add sauted mushrooms or fried onions to any burger no charge... NICE.

On the downside they will put katsup or mayo on your 'burger.' SICKO

Well I for one am very excited. Within two months I will be in walking distance of Foodheads, Salvation Pizza, Delaware Subs, Five Guys and the pinnacle, Torchy's Tacos. If God opened up a shopping mall, this would be his food court.
