First Round Upsets

What games do you think will be first round upsets and why?

I took SFA over VCU. Although SFA plays in a weak conference they've pretty much destroyed that group while VCU seems like they are beatable.

The only #1 seed I have in the final four is Arizona. Of all years this seems like the year a three or four seed could win it all.

It's tough to pick a true upset in the first round - that is, by an 11th seed, or lower. If I had to pick one, it might be Providence over North Carolina.

The Friars are outsized, but they play great defense and did win the Big East tournament with an impressive win over Creighton in the final.

Interesting, I picked the same but then changed it. That was more of a gut choice than on any real stats.

I too like SFA over VCU... 'jacks are 32-2 with a 28 game winning streak... granted it is not the toughest schedule, but this is a pretty good team.

Good call on the Lumberjacks. My pick of Providence fell a bit short.

There have been more upsets than I expected. I guess Duke would be the biggest so far, although as mentioned in another thread, Mercer was better than their 14th seed would indicate.

In hindsight I should have said a seven or eight seed could win it all.
