Firefox Bookmarks Missing

Hey all, I'm pretty sure this has been discussed already, but I couldn't find the post, so thanks in advance for the help.

Here's the problem. I'm still using Firefox 2.0 and most, but not all, of my firefox bookmarks just disappeared. I haven't updated or installed anything recently. I tried windows system restore and a few troubleshooting tips including reinstalling and checking for multiple user profiles, but nothing helped.

Any ideas for restoring these, or am I screwed?

Same thing happened to me. Search in windows explorer for 'Bookmarks' - making sure you select 'search hidden files and folders'. Mine were luckily backed up in a random folder- and I loaded them back in.

After you recover them, I would quickly export them to avoid this in the future.
In Firefox 2 choose Bookmarks - Organize and then file-export
