Finding land outside of Austin

Any tips of finding a piece of land south of Austin? We're primarily looking for either an acre lot or 3-10 acres out around Highway 12 bw Hamilton Pool and 290 - maybe somewhere along Fitzhugh.

We have a realtor who has found some ghastly expensive properties, so maybe this is just the norm. What should we expect to pay out there for land?

Just curious bc we are new at looking for land!

Thanks.

Too bad, my son's former FIL (an architect) sold his 15 acres (with a beautiful 4,000 sq.ft. steel frame house + garage) overlooking the Barton Creek "Valley" a couple of miles north of Fitzhugh for less than $500k. I think he had been asking around $450k.

It has a great view to the north.

My son considered it, but the two level house (10 years old) didn't fit his wants.

I have 25 acres (zoned commercial/industrial) about 1/2 mile east of Texas 130 near the Austin Airport for sale, but it's going to run about $2.5 million.

40 dollars. Hong Kong Dollars, that is. I forgot to change some out on the return trip. Guess I will keep it for the next trip out there if I don't buy your land.

That's about what it's worth during the bust.

But it costs almost nothing to hold until values rise again.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but if you are willing to live North, you can get some decent deals.

I've got 3.3 acres for sale out on 1431 north of town. It is about 5 miles west of 183 off of 1431 and about 2 miles from Lake Travis. It is about 30 minutes from downtown via the tollway depending on traffic.

Beautiful piece of property. We've got it listed for $110k. It's in an awesome little gated subdivision w/ ~20 other 3-5 acre properties. Underground utilities, nice neighbors, plenty of building sites, blah, blah, blah..
