Final Thoughts Before Games Begin

Looking forward to watching live Longhorn football at DKR in person on Saturday.

Predict a Longhorn win and a full slate of Monday Morning Quarterbacking postgame.

Some things change.

Many things don't change.

Go Horns!
I have an extreme amount of jealousy in me that I can't be at DKR!!

He should have thought about that before being so political after the Floyd overdose. He should have stayed focused on football like Dabo and Saban did. He started the **** storm !!!
I would agree with your comment, "he started the ….storm". But
two points
A. By not fighting it and going what seems "overboard" about it, he gave the impression he was TOTALLY SENSITIVE about it. So as to avert a groundswell from the player base of, our coach doesn't care.
B. It seems to have worked for the most part. The locker room is relatively calm. And football is about to be played. What I am sure pains him (my opinion) is the issue of the fight song. As it does all of us BURNT ORANGE IN THE BLOOD fans.
I am so hoping, after the success and joy of winning our first game, that a feeling of total admiration and appreciation for the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, plus unity and brotherhood, overwhelm any and all feelings of doing a sit out of the playing of the school song.

I like your comments and agree most of the time, but I wouldn't hold your breath on that. Naturally, I hope I am wrong.

Ok, got a bit down after the disappointment of Sterns confirmation of what I would have predicted and the ‘concessions’ by the big 12 but just uploaded (or down I guess) my tickets and makes me a tiny bit excited again. Nothing will be the same I’m sure but I’m hoping for a fun season with tolerable, ah who am I kidding, with ignorable distractions.

NCAA football is a very difficult game. Exceptionally difficult at the Power 5 level. Everything will be just fine so long as there are no complete passes, no missed tackles and no blown defense calls. Why would any sane minded individual choose to do that with a voluntary target on their back? Hard to imagine. Volunteering to be perfect. Takes all kinds.

My own thoughts...

I expect UT to be better on offense, defense, and return game.
UT beats ou in RRR
Ou with at least 2 losses in regular season
OSU overrated. ...lines not stout enough and that is where games are won and lost
UT plays no less than a ny6 bowl
Many disenfranchised fans
B1g jumps back in late and ends up in bowls and playoffs
UT ends w 2 losses in regular season
UT loses a game to a lesser opponent they "shouldnt lose" to
Recruiting momentum maintains or increases after a "good" year
Thompson plays enough and well enough to get some fan love and confidence of onlookers
We have fewer injuries
Referees suck
