regular season numbers:

1 SP C.J. Wilson* 29 15 8 3.35
2 SP Colby Lewis 30 12 13 3.72
3 SP Scott Feldman 27 7 11 5.48
4 SP Tommy Hunter 23 13 4 3.73
5 SP Cliff Lee* 31 4 6 3.98

If you would have told me that Cliff Lee's regular season ERA would be #4 on the Rangers staff, and then told me the Rangers would be in the world series, I would say you're crazy for sure.

So what happens with this crew? Was C.J.'s year a hint of things to come or was it a career thing? I think he can keep it up.

Have you ever seen such good numbers on the Rangers team?

Especially Colby's, I still can't believe a Ranger pitcher can have an ERA under 4.00 and have a losing record. that might make sense for a team with a weaker offense than the Rangers.

If they are able to sign Lee, they still need at least one more starter. Do you think Hunter is up for the job, or Holland?

Other than that, Rangers still need to find an 8th inning guy, would have been really interesting if Frankie was healthy in Sept. and October.

with a healthy Frankie and Feliz, the only starter I would worry about not making the 7 innings would be Tommy. And his problems might have been experience related. Was this his first full season in the bigs? I think so.

If we're serious, sign Lee and Soriano. Use Nefti as either a starter (i wouldn't) or have both as closers. If we don't sign vlad (looks like we may not sign him) then we're in for a lot of one run games....2 closers would prevent Nefti from wearing down

as for cliff's era, look at his IP....Dude ate some innings, kept the pen intact. ODay w/h been worn down if cliff hadn't been traded here - which cj is the first to say helped him also, learning from cliff

I just hope cj doesn't become next yr's feldman....i don;t think he will, but who thought feldman would tank so quick?

Lee won't tank
