Fed Reserve Bank Flies Gay Pride Flag

The Fed. Reserve Bank of Richmond, Va. has decided to fly the rainbow gay pride flag right under Old Glory. You might ask yourself why would a Federal Reserve Bank fly a gay pride flag? Is the President of NBC running this bank?. Well, apparently they're doing it mainly to join in the celebration of President BO, declaring June LBGT month. Ironically, most gay sex acts are still against the law in Va.

Can you imagine the uproar if this bank decided to fly a flag with a Christmas tree on it in December? What's that old saying; "No great Nation can fall from without untill it has fallen from within."

Here's a letter from Virginia Republican delegate Bob Marshall to the President of the Bank voicing his objections to the flag :

If you want Barack Obama to serve a second term, you are hoping social conservatives show up strong in the GOP Primaries.

Jeez, that letter to President Lacke sounds grounded in the '50s. I think most of the country would put this story in the "who cares" column, but please, continue to emphasize the national importance of issues like this.

He should have just left it at the first paragraph, that's really hard to argue against. The rest sounds like a drunken rant by old people sittin' on the front porch.

Either way, the flag in this context shows poor judgment.

maybe its real estate speculation. wave a gay flag, property value goes up. why do you think san fran has the highest property values in the country?

not sure why the fed would fly any flag on its flag pole other than the united states flag or the state in which the office building sits. unfortunately, im just a poor citizen that pays his taxes. decisions like this could only be made by the genius of the government bureaucrat. next week and in honor of lbgt month, chaz bono is supposed to come give a motivational speech on handling stress and eating right.

So, some of you despise the intolerance you perceive in others but use it to justify your own intolerance? Interesting.

I don't much care about the flag flying. I'd feel the same way about some sort of Black History Month banner or something saluting soldiers. They're all largely impotent although well-meaning gestures.

The letter in the op is an embarrassment to the Twentieth Century let alone the Twenty-first.

Amazingly stupid thing for a Fed bank to do.

Even more amazingly stupid letter from Marshall. What an idiot.

Yo, can we fly a Straight Pride flag next month? What about a Black History Flag in February? How about a Pagan flag too? They are a minority.....

The Federal Government flying Gay Pride flags is the same as the Federal Government flying a White Power flag. Its a support for a specific group.....

Come on now.

I don't have a problem with this particular interest group, but I do have a problem with any interest group receiving this sort of purely political favor. It doesn't seem a proper role for the nation's institutions and where does it all end?

no, it's a private organization with government appointed board members. yet ... they set monetary policy for the country ... unreal.

END THE FED!

wow, Namewithheld, thank you fior posting that. That is eyeopening. i had no idea the Boy Scouts were so exclusionary. Why? I don't get it.

So, yeah, i would be disappointed if a flag of a group that has a policy to exclude such a large segment of Americans from it's ranks was flown. I don't know about a stroke though. It's just a flag.

The LBGT groups seem to want inclusion, not exclusion. that is where i would make that distinction.

Is a Federal Reserve Bank an actual federal building? Regardless, I agree that it is inappropriate or somewhat curious at best, to fly some flag other than the state or U.S. flag.
But the hatred that guy has in his head is unbelievable, hard to understand someone that bigoted, and in the name of some religion-wow. That's not what I consider religion. It's extremism, dangerous extremism in the name of zealotry.
