Fed-Ex Question...

I'm expecting an important package today (requires signature). It is 'out for delivery' on the Fed-Ex tracking website. This is a residential delivery. Don't they usually deliver residential packages later in the day? In summary, I'm trying to determine when I should run home from work...

I have had them show up as early as 1:00 and as late as 7:00. You could call them and see if they would ask the driver when he would be there. That works sometimes.

I tried calling. Because it is 'Home Delivery' they cannot provide any details. The package can arrive as late as 9pm... Ugh...

Don't worry, your drugs will be there before the withdrawal symptoms get too bad.

Have a great weekend!

I've had my Fed Ex driver think he was doing me a favor and leave the package on my door when I wasn't home, even though it required a signature.

My father-in-law had sent us our $1000 digital camera. I found it when I got home, about 5 hours after he left it on my doorstep. When I told my FIL about it, he was furious. He called Fed Ex and they said it should have never been left out there if I wasn't at home. The next day the driver knocked on my door and explained that he "thought I'd rather have my package as soon as possible and would I mind calling his boss to explain that it was no big deal."

"Uh no. It was a big deal. You left a $1000 camera on my doorstep in plain view for over 5 hours. We requested a signature be required for a reason *******."

He's still my driver and I suspect he rubs all my packages on his genitals before he deilvers them to us now.

It's possible that the number of packages that are actually stolen off of front porches in "nice" neighborhoods is so small that the costs associated with theft replacement are lower than the cost of re-delivery of thousands of packages, each day. It's another reason why they have a limit on how much they will insure your package for.
