When pointed out to Bum Phillips in a preseason practice that Earl Campbell brought up the rear in a team mile run, Phillips responded:

"When we have a 3rd and mile situation, I won't put Earl in."
 
If Favre had just handled this better there's a small chance he could have been traded to Tampa or somewhere he likes. There was a very small chance he could have ended up in Minny but he completely eliminated that by acting like a huge douche.
 
...from patting himself on the back too much

...from raising his hand to get people's attention too much

...from pulling out his cell phone to text ESPN reporters too much
 
I still think he had this all planned. Now that he didn't get his wish and go to Minn, he is suddenly going to realize he is just too old and retire again.
 
I don't think he's too old if he had stayed with it without a break.

But to quit and come back is gonna be awfully tough at his age.
 
I wonder what he's getting paid this year. I know the Packers were offering him - what - 20 mil to stay retired. Depending on what the Jets are paying him, he's going to look pretty stupid if he gets benched for sucking.

And, yes, I know he probably has enough $$ and doesn't care...
 
Packers were offering $25MM over 10 years. I believe he's making $12MM this year. If he hangs on past this year, this was the right move financially.
 
I love the ways he plays the game and all that he did for GB, but now i wish he would just go away. He really came off as flakey douche over the past few months.
