and dress with onions, cilantro, trappeys sliced jalapenos and shredded cheddarjack. maybe some refrieds on the side, also with some cheese on them. also, corn tortillas always.
I usually add onion, bell peppers or jalapinos before/while I am browning the beef + after you add the seasoning and water, make sure to cook off all the excess water and it starts to carmelize.
1 pound ground beef
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 red onion
2 serrano peppers
cilantro
cummin(comino)
salt
pepper
vegetable oil
1 can of dice tomatoes
With your pan on med-hi add your 2 tbl spoons of oil, onions and garlic. Add the ground beef. Season with salt, pepper and cummin. Cook until brown and add the can of tomatoes, serranos and cilantro finely chopped. Not sure how to measure the cilantro, but I would guess about 1/4 of a bundle. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to simmer. Alloy liquid to reduce by half. Serve in your favorite taco shells, or just make your own.
The secret of a good taco is the Tortilla. What's the point of a making the perfect taco meat and then stickin it in a thick tortilla chip? Frying your own tortillas will make your tacos 10x better.
Put about 1/4" of vegtable oil in a small frying pan.
Fry your flour tortillas until golden on both sides.
They will puff up when you fry them so poke them with a sharp knife a couple of times when they do.
Drain on paper towels and throw just a little salt and fresh black pepper on them when they first come out.
Next arrange fried tortillas on a sheet pan.
Spread with refried beans.
Add you favorite taco meat.
Cover with grated cheese.
Bake until cheese is melted.
Add chopped lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sliced black olives, sliced avocado or guacamole and just a dollop of sour cream.
(Or add whatever you like on a taco)
Return to oven until heated.
Eat with a fork because it is easier but you can pick them up if you are wearing an old shirt.
