Mike Wacker. You young'uns have no idea how good he was, and could have been if not for that night at HOT Coliseum in Waco. It's amazing to contemplate how that one injury all those years ago impacted the direction of UT basketball in ways that are still being felt today. Plus Wacker was just a really good kid.

I was at that rodeo arena the night Wacker went down. While obviously not the same level of tragedy, I would compare the "what could have been" to the Len Bias situation. Wacker was that good. He proved it by coming back two years later after extensive rehab and being named SWC POY on one good leg.
