Favorite Austin Date Places

I'm not talking about the common places. I'm talking about the little known places that you can spend some time without interuption.

My place was always the Ausitn Nature Center. It's rarely visited off school hours, but it's really a pretty awesome place.

i have never really been anywhere in austin with a girl that is considered not common. i took a previous gf to barton springs a few times. that might count?

i took my latest gf to dart bowl. that was pretty allsome.

Take every first date to G&S Lounge. If she complains, you know you don't have to go on a second date.

Once loaded a cooler with to go Chinese & packed a dinner @ sunset up to the top of Mt. Bonnell & used their stone tableau... did the same thing with my own table & chair rig for 5 Mile Dam on the Blanco River (which was a shitload less populated).

Rent a boat from Just For Fun & hit a desolate cove for some macking.

I have a similar approch to Maximum Barnes. I usually take the girl to a decent dinner and then hit up Ginny's on North Lamar. If she can't appreciate a place like that, she's got no chance with yours truly.

I've heard Hornian's recommendation is BYOB... but don't hold me to it as I've never been.

I had not read this thread but tonight at Peter Pan I thought to myself how I have had great fun taking dates there. It is fun and you can learn about somebody that way. It is also byob, it is true.

Then I saw his post and I was foiled again.

utexas, how long ago was it that you went and the booth was empty? one of my good friends works the booth some nights. he has some good stories about working there.

i dont remember the exact date. it was for a friends bday about a year or so ago? a few other posters were there. maybe they remember which date it was.

anyway, there was a sign on the window that said "Be back in 30 minutes" but there was not a time posted anywhere about when they left. of course we took advantage of the situation and played golf for free
