So how in the hell do you play the match ups?

Once I have my draft picks and know my team and I'm up to play with another team... what do you do? Do you just pick your players according to who you think will do better in the real game? and if so, can you change them around during the live games, or once it's set and the game starts you're done?

btw, I'm playing yahoo on a private league at work that's not doing a live draft...

You'll want to look at the players in question and look to see the team they are playing. For instance you'll want to start a receiver who is playing a team with a weak pass defense over one who is playing a great defense. THings like that.

And you can't switch players once the game they are playing in has started. Be wary of players with game time decisions

You'll know after the first matchup.

You'll rank your players according to your preferences. This is important bc the computer will be picking your team. I will tell you that the default players are not always the best players and you'll hate when it picks a kicker for you in the 6th round. RANK YOUR PLAYERS! Generally heavy RBs WRs and 1 or 2 QBs.

Once you've started the matchup, you cannot adjust your lineup. So, as the previous poster states, follow the news on game time decision players. Welcome to the world of couch lounging.

Like the guy above said, you'll figure it out, but a few tips...

* - Check the site right before you have to have your starters set (for us it's 5 minutes before the first game) and make sure none of your starters are injured/out. Nothing worse than starting a guy wearing a suit on the sidelines

* - Don't overcoach; if a guy has been piling up points for you all year, don't bench him just because of an 'unfavorable' matchup for his team that week.

* - The players NFL team doesn't matter at all, only whether he scores or not. Just because you've got a WR for a ****** team going against the Pats don't automatically sit him; if his team loses 55-14 and he gets one (or both of the TDs), you're golden.

*- If you've got a judgement call between WRs (ie if they're more or less equal), see if one of them plays for the same team as the QB for the guy you're playing in fantasy. In other words, if you're deciding between Hines Ward and Marvin Harrison and the guy you're playing starts Ben Roethlisberger, go with Ward.

* - The worst mistake of all - don't start a guy on a bye week. That's just saying "I don't give a ****, kick me out of the league"
