I have 10 or 12 books my grandfather had about flying, planes, aviation, etc. He was a pilot in the Navy and loved everything about aviation. We are having a garage sale tomorrow, and I would prefer these books went to someone who I know is interested and not someone who is going to go and resell it to half-price books.

Anyways, it wouldn't be an issue, but my grandfather signed and dated several of them and one of them even has the price tag in it from when he bought it. Kinda sentimental value, but not enough to keep 25 lbs of books that I won't enjoy as much as someone interested in aviation.

HoustonHorn...

I'm very interested in Avation... esp. 40's, 50's and 60's....

I live in Pearland and promise not to sell them ever...

They're yours if you don't mind coming and picking them up. I'm in Spring Branch. Shoot me a PM and we can make the arrangements.

That is a very good collection. Glad they are staying with someone who will enjoy them.

NB:

I'm definitely happy they are going to someone who will appreciate them. My grandfather would be happy to know that someone is enjoying them as much as he used to.

If you have any left over, might consider taking them by a retirement home. Might be some guys there that would really appreciate them. I donated a bunch of unused gimme caps one time, and the old men went nuts for them. May start a thread on this.
