False COA

Not that Bob

Evidently someone hates me and submitted at least one false change of address form to the Post Office. I'm not sure how many, but I'm getting credit card denials because I have not paid my bill...which I didn't get since it went to a false address.

Any hints on how to track this down?

Get your credit reports ASAP. They may have other things on it and may contain some addresses. Call the CC company and ask what address they have on file. Go to the post office and ask them if they have a forwarding order and stop it.

And the biggest piece of advice - stop relying on paper bills for anything. Pay everything online, or at least keep track of everything online so you don't need the paper bill as a reminder.

Yea, every time I move, I get pissed at how easy it is to submit that form. Signatures are meaningless now days. When I sign my credit card receipts, I just scribble and no one cares.

Okay, I stuffed "the other Bob" in the trunk of his car, and he stopped making noise about 1 1/2 hours ago, so I guess that's settled. Then I went to the Post Office and was able to talk to the manager who said that there was never a COA submitted on my address. Is it possible that the credit card people lied to me? No way!

It sounds like someone sent a change of address to your credit card companies. I would notify the postal inspectors of your problems as this is a felony if someone is stealing your mail.
