Fake fireworks, fake singers, fake minorities, cheating at (at least) gymnastics, walling off whole neighborhoods, censoring (or at least trying to) access to the internet for reporters. Yeah, you're a class act China....

it's no so much the cheating and what not that bothers me. i expect that from china. that is who they are.

what bothers me is they feel like they are a bit smarter than everyone. like no one will find out who old they are even though there are public records. i would more respectful if they would just go ahead and tell us all to **** off and they will do it the way they want to do it.....

i would like to congratulate TheGallopinGoose for finding this article while scanning the sports page of the Bangkok Post. now that is some serious dedication to sports information.

The thing that's frustrating about it is the attitude that they will continue to deny everything in the face of clear and obvious evidence to the contrary. I'm not even really sure if they expect that we believe them, or even care. It's almost as if it's about saving face with them, and as long as they don't back off their claim, it doesn't matter whether anyone believes them or not.

All of this, the opening ceremonies, the gymnasts, etc....it's all about image, or rather trying to create this image of themselves to the rest of the world. Hopefully, the rest of the world knows better.
